Nicola serves to implement the decisions and policies of the Dean of the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences related to college finances, university policies and procedures, and the management of the EMS Dean’s Office. Other duties include:
- Management of college resources as they pertain to EMS and the Dean’s strategic priorities
- Oversight of academic evaluations including promotion and tenure, mandated reviews, and sabbaticals
- Confirmation of the Dean’s final approval of all hiring, leave, and termination decisions
- Assistance with the Dean’s daily operations and strategic projects
