PoEMS (Postdoctoral Society of EMS)
PoEMS is a society that aims to enhance the postdoctoral experience at Penn State in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (EMS) by providing resources to build community among the EMS Postdocs as well as assist postdoctoral fellows, postdoctoral scholars, and visiting postdoctoral scholars in their professional and personal development.

Postdoctoral Excellence in Research Award
The Postdoctoral Excellence in Research Award honors EMS postdoctoral scholars who have excelled in research and expresses the gratitude and appreciation of the college. The recipient shall be honored with a recognition memento and a monetary award at the Wilson Awards Banquet held each spring.
Charles Hosler Diversity, Equity and Incluson Postdoc Award
The EMS Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Postdoc Award honors postdoctoral scholars who have demonstrated exemplary leadership that manifests the ideals of diversity, equity and inclusion into practical action.

Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Scholar Ombuds Program
The Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Scholar Ombuds Program is to provide graduate students and postdocs with a neutral, third-party to assist with conflict resolution and solutions-oriented support. The ombuds program provides an alternative to the formal grievances and complaint process. It emphasizes non-adversarial problem-solving options, rather than formal, rights-based options.
