Dean's Staff Appreciation Luncheon

The Dean's Staff Appreciation Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in the Presidents Hall at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center.

The Staff Recognition Awards listed below will be announced at the luncheon.

A description of the qualifications for each award is included on the individual nomination forms available on the Staff Awards webpage.

Ice Cream Social

SAC sponsors an ice cream social during the summer. A raffle is usually held to benefit the college's United Way campaign.

    Dean's Staff Appreciation Luncheon Reservation

    January

    • Congratulatory letters to nominators and nominees of Staff Recognition Awards
    • Review SAC Policies & Guidelines
    • Follow up with dean’s AA for new year’s Dean’s Luncheon date

    February

    • Review SAC website content

    March

    • Call for applications by SAC for the Administrative Fellows Program (July to December period of activity)

    April

    • Applications due for Admin Fellow Program to HR for vetting

    May

    • Announce term expiration of SAC members for fall and ask for interested staff to notify the Dean’s Office
    • Planning for Ice Cream Social Event. Submit budget proposal to dean’s AA
    • Selection Committee for Administrative Fellows Program

    June

    • Announcement of Administrative Fellows Candidate
    • Finalize plans for Ice Cream Social

    July

    • Welcome letter from SAC Chairs sent to all newly appointed SAC members
    • Ice Cream Social Event

    August

    • Announcement of new SAC members to college
    • Planning for New Staff Reception. Submit budget proposal to Dean’s AA

    September

    • Election of new SAC officers
    • Call for Staff Centennial Awards nominations
    • Call for applications for the Administrative Fellows Program (January to June period of activity)

    October

    • Remind staff to submit names to HR Manager to qualify for On the Job 100% Award
    • Staff Centennial Award recipients announced and letters/awards sent to recipients
    • Staff Recognition Awards nomination forms emailed to EMS employees
    • Recommendation of staff gift to dean (Dean’s Luncheon)
    • Administrative Fellow applications due to HR for vetting

    November

    • Request HR run years of service lists
    • Remind staff to notify Dean’s Office of eligibility for service awards 
    • Send out invitations to Dean’s Luncheon ( remember to get U.Ed. number from EMS University Editor in Dean's Office)
    • Selection Committee convenes to select the Staff Recognition Award winners
    • Begin Dean’s Luncheon programs
    • Secure photographer
    • Coordinate luncheon menu with Dean’s AA
    • Deadline for Staff Recognition Awards nominations
    • Order On-the-Job 100% & Staff Recognition Awards gifts

    December

    • Send all materials needed for Staff Appreciation Luncheon to Dean's Office Marketing and Communications staff including service awards, recognition awards, gift for attendees, and names of VIP attendesss
    • Staff Appreciation Luncheon
    • Announce Staff Recognition Award winners via EMS Listservs and on website
