What would be your dream job and how did EMS put you closer to this goal?
I aspire to become a researcher or a faculty member (professor) in the future. My undergraduate research experiences at EMS have provided me with valuable opportunities to work towards this goal, allowing me to collaborate with exceptional faculties and gain hands-on research experience in a high-level research institute.
What student organizations and activities are you involved in?
I am not currently a member of any student organizations, but I am actively involved in the Colby Rheology Group as an undergraduate researcher. Within the group, I am dedicated to working on my senior thesis project, which investigates the initiation of flow-induced crystallization at elevated temperatures by subjecting isotactic polypropylene (iPP) to varying levels of deformation. I am planning to complete my thesis before I graduate.
What is the best class you’ve taken at Penn State and why?
The best class I've taken at Penn State is MATSE 447, which focuses on polymer rheology and processing. While it's renowned as one of the most challenging courses in the polymer program at Penn State, it pushed me to study harder, and I successfully completed the course. Moreover, it introduced me to the fascinating world of rheology, ultimately playing a pivotal role in my decision to pursue further studies in polymer physics. For these reasons, I consider MATSE 447 the best class I've taken at Penn State.
What is the one Penn State activity that everyone should participate in, and why?
I highly recommend attending a White Out game as one of the best Penn State activities. The enthusiastic atmosphere and thrilling football games at Beaver Stadium provide an incredible opportunity to immerse oneself in Penn State pride and create lasting memories with friends.
