PETROLEUM REFINING

Gasoline for automobiles is the most important product coming out of an oil refinery, but it's not the only one. (Remember that, when J. D. Rockefeller started Standard Oil in 1860's, kerosene was the main product, and it was used as an illuminant.) The typical output from a modern oil refinery is illustrated below.
