What made you choose your major?
I chose meteorology because I always had a niche for it. When I was very young, I used to wake up before elementary school to watch Joe Snedeker at 6 a.m. almost every day of the week. I continued with my interest by taking meteorology and other Earth science courses throughout high school, which lead to my ultimate decision to apply to Penn State because it has the best program in the country.
What is the one Penn State activity that everyone should participate in, and why?
The one Penn State activity that everyone should experience is THON. The connections you build with determined, like-minded individuals united in the fight to end childhood cancer are truly remarkable. The energy and sense of purpose that fill the air during THON weekend create a magical atmosphere — an experience that should belong on every student’s bucket list.
Why did you decide to attend Penn State?
I decided on Penn State because I knew from a very young age that the opportunities were endless here. There are countless career-related opportunities and voluntary work that will assist you a ton with building an image for yourself. The people you meet will build you lasting relationships that you carry far beyond your four years of undergrad.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned in college so far?
Always remember to fill your schedule up with involvement in different clubs and activities but always leave some time for yourself and do not burn yourself out.
