Note: The usefulness (and the potential danger!) of the equations provided here and elsewhere is best understood if their parametric sensitivity is examined. This can be accomplished readily (and rather quickly!) using a desktop computer program such as Mathematica or Matlab. Here is a brief case study using cyclone collection efficiency and Mathematica.
