This is a seafloor sediment probe that will be placed in the Eel River Basin methane seep for one year. It has 28 windows which will hold glass slides and Si-wafers as surfaces for microbial growth. The field research is part of projects funded by the NURP & NSF. The probe was designed as part of an undergraduate summer research project with Penn State's CECG.
