Penn State Weather Camp is a resident science experience designed for students who will enter grades eight through ten in the fall. During this week of camp, participants will receive hand-on experience in many aspects of weather, including the actual process of making a forecast. Campers will gain an appreciation for the wonders, complexity, and beauty of the atmosphere, and for people who have chosen careers in meteorology. <<MORE>>


The Pennsylvania Drilling and Blasting Conference Series

For over twenty-five years, The Pennsylvania Drilling and Blasting Conference Series has been providing continuing education to blasting professionals and serving as a statewide forum for the discussion of current issues in the drilling and blasting field.

Conferences in the series are held every other year on the campus of The Pennsylvania State University.  This conference series attracts a varied and impressive list of professionals, such as underground and surface drillers and blasters, engineers, safety personnel, suppliers, and regulatory personnel, each with special expertise and a strong desire to share knowledge and experience.  <<MORE

G. Albert Shoemaker Lecture Series in Mineral Engineering
The G. Albert Shoemaker Lecture Series in Mineral Engineering was established in 1992 by Mercedes G. Shoemaker to honor the memory of her husband, a Pittsburgh civic and industrial leader dedicated to the support of higher education.  The lecture are meant to bring outstanding leaders to the energy and mineral resource industries to the Penn State University Park Campus to discuss with students, faculty, and community members issues of critical importance to the mineral industry.  The series is administered by the John and Willie Leone Family Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering.  <<MORE>>
