Delaware Workshop - Miner Training Program

Professional Development Workshop for Mine Supervisors, Competent Persons, and Safety Professionals

As an outreach service of the PA Bureau of Mine Safety, staff from the Penn State Miner Training Program conduct a 1-day Professional Development Seminar in Delaware each year.  Typically, this workshop is held in the month of September.  The purpose of the workshop is to enhance safety at Metal/Non-Metal surface operations through education and training in timely topics, such as:

  1. Hazard recognition
  2. Safety motivation
  3. Legal issues
  4. Fall protection
  5. Maintenance safety
  6. Enforcement issues
  7. Workplace examinations
  8. Q & A on other timely issues

Penn State Miner Training Program members, government and industry safety specialists conduct numerous safety presentations throughout the day.

The date and location of future Delaware events will be advertised on the MSHA web site and through other safety organizations and web sites.
