First EMS Administrative Fellow Appointed

Christine Rosenhoover, Staff Assistant in the Department of Geosciences, was chosen as the inaugural EMS Administrative Fellow. Christine worked part-time with the Research Office to learn more about sponsored research administration.

A word or two from Christie - This was the best training I've ever had. I feel that I am better poised to take on research administration responsibilities and tasks in my current position as well as in future positions I may seek.

The EMS Administrative Fellows Program is a new initiative designed to provide staff members with a unique opportunity for advanced mentoring and job training. The program provides up to a six-month period during which the Fellow spends half-time with Fellowship activities in a chosen area/unit of the College and half-time serving in his or her current position. Fellows participate in administrative meetings, serve on relevant committees, and fulfill special assignments related to their individual career goals, all to better enable them to handle the challenges of higher-education administration. The program was initiatied by the EMS Staff Advisory Committee.
