Academic Advising is an opportunity for you to engage with faculty and staff in the College of Earth & Mineral Sciences to assist in identifying academic goals, developing educational plans, and maximizing your educational experience.
We encourage creative planning to allow students to take advantage of a wide array of learning opportunities, including: study abroad, world languages, minors, and engaged scholarship.
It is the responsibility of all students to initiate contact with academic advisers, monitor academic progress, and follow university policies. Each EMS undergraduate has a faculty adviser in his/her department who is very knowledgeable about departmental academic requirements. You can find your faculty adviser on eLion( eLion Advising Adviser Information).
In addition, each student has access to a professional advisor in the Ryan Family Student Center who will be helpful in making sure that all University and College requirements are met.
